The summer is known as Hollywood's time for big movies. Every summer a new blockbuster will come out that will break records along with our wallets.

With the price of movie tickets seeming to grow larger every year along with the ever-growing price of drinks and snacks, going to a movie has become a bank-breaker.

Not only have movies become more expensive, but also everyone seems to miss the experience of seeing a classic movie on the big screen.

That's why the Manship Theatre is bringing back cult movie classics with a special price of $20 for three movies.

On the weekends throughout this summer, the Manship is showing a great selection of cult films starting with Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" this Friday, June 19.

The great films continue to roll on throughout this summer. On July 12, the Manship will be bringing back "The Wizard of Oz," and then on July 17, they will be showing Prince's '80s classic "Purple Rain."

In August the movies continue with "Casablanca" playing on the August 9 and "Road Warriors" playing on the August 14.

Not only will the Manship being playing these great films, but they are also serving a special drink cocktail to go along with each film. For example, the specific cocktail being served with "A Clockwork Orange" is a screwdriver, a simple cocktail drink consisting of orange juice and vodka.

The cocktail listing only gets better with mimosas being served during "The Wizard of Oz," Purple Hazes being served alongside the downpour of "Purple Rain," gin and tonics with the coolness of "Casablanca" and cherry bombs for the explosions of "Road Warriors."

Besides these special cocktails, the Manship Theatre will have a full cash bar for all films.

"We had the facilities and thought we'd give it a try. It was just something we thought would be nice to do in Baton Rouge," said John Kaufman, the media manager of the Manship Theatre. "There really isn't anyplace where you can see classic films on the big screen, much less with a cocktail in hand."

With cool drinks, classic movies and a ticket price of only $8 a movie, this sounds like the perfect summer outing. The Manship Theatre will allow alcohol and popcorn to be consumed in the theatre during the movie, and they also suggest that you buy your tickets in advance online.
