Oprah, Satan’s chosen one

By Dane Mannina

Oprah Winfrey is quite possibly the Anti-Christ.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown for the highest paid African-American woman in the world, as well as the highest paid television personality. Grossing more than $260 million a year from the Oprah show and its subsidiaries, the next highest-paid television personality is Britain’s bad-boy talent scout Simon Cowell, posting a paltry $45 million.

Some say Oprah must make a ridiculous amount of money from her television show and its subsequent products – 1.9 billion, total – but Oprah is damn near the most charitable person alive! After all, she has her own reality TV show titled “Oprah’s Big Give.” And let’s not forget Oprah’s “Favorite Things” seasonal episode where she gives tons of free gifts to audience members.

But do you know what else she loves to give away? Tax bills. For all the “gifts” that Oprah gives, audience members must pay a hefty tax fee stipulated by the IRS of up to 44 percent the total of those gifts.

Recently Oprah gave a Pontiac G6s to each person of the 256-member audience. Everyone went apes**t on live television, but that reaction probably couldn’t compare to the one they gave after the show when the cameras were turned off and they discovered that their new $28,000 car came with a $7,000 tax bill. On another show, Oprah saluted her audience of hard-working teachers with $8,000 worth of gifts. Realistically, Oprah’s “Favorite Things” episode is just a shameless plug of items she is paid to endorse. In all honesty, though, the poor can’t afford Oprah’s charity. Furthermore, Oprah’s giving only amounts to about 2 percent of her net income yearly, which is nothing compared to a real philanthropist like Bill Gates, who has given more than $36 billion of his once-estimated total of $101 billion. This also included a generous $1 billion donation to the United Negro College Fund.

But that’s nothing compared to what Oprah has done for African Americans, right? After all, Oprah opened that school for South African girls. That’s got to buy her some street cred in the category of “living saints,” right?

You tell me. Oprah built and donated a $40-million “girl’s leadership academy” to the children of South Africa. It has 28 buildings, including a yoga studio. The girls have spacious closets, 200 thread-count sheets and eat on fine China. It’s surely every poor South African girl’s dream.

Well, it is only the dream of 150 South Africans. That’s right – only 150 girls out of nearly 15 million children in South Africa attend the school.

But worse than telling us what items to buy on a seasonal basis, Oprah tells us which books to read. Besides the stock value increases of all products that Oprah puts her trademark stamp upon, every book that Oprah adds to her globe-spanning book club reaches the best-seller list.

Everyone recalls the “A Million Little Pieces” incident where the author, James Frey, was caught lying about subject matter in his novel about his personal struggle with drug addiction. He was brought back on the show and berated by Oprah for his treason. But this incident is my case in point: For a time, America was happily reading a book of lies spoon-fed to them by the hand that feeds.

Oprah also tells us which political candidate to pick. Oprah recently endorsed Barack Obama with her household name. A recent release of the “Celebrity Trust Index” named Oprah as the most trustworthy female celebrity. Obama’s wife recently wrote a tribute in Time’s Top 100 People in which she said, “[Oprah] challenges us to make the world as it is the world as it should be. And she is always the first to show us how it can be done.”

Personally, it frightens me that the future First Lady of the United States is taking notes from Oprah, first and foremost.

Daily, the Oprah show has an estimated viewing audience of 14 million people, which is only a few million shy of the national average of Christians who attend mass weekly in the U.S. Altogether, Oprah has two television shows, the famous O magazine, an XFM radio broadcast, and an upcoming launch of her new television station, The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

Worldwide, Oprah has 49 million “devout followers,” as the Associated Press calls them, in 132 countries. Wasn’t there someone else who had 49 million devout followers? Oh, that’s right: Hitler. But, unfortunately for him, Hitler chose politics instead of capitalism. Perhaps if Hitler had launched a book club and radio broadcast program, we’d all be speaking German right now.

Oprah recently put her seal of approval on Eckhart Tolle’s book, “A New Earth,” a new age book which contemplates the possibility of numerous ways to get to “heaven” besides just accepting the savior or beliefs of standardized religions. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the freedom of religion or the right to choose not to practice.

However, a lot of people say, “Oprah has always been pushing ‘new age’ ideas; it’s no surprise that she endorses this.” And that is precisely what scares me most.

She constantly pushes New Age reasoning that calls for the breakdown of organized religion which, she must have realized, is quite possibly the only force capable of stopping her from taking complete control of a large faction of the world. If the average person isn’t turning to the institution of organized religion to help them with their life choices and daily living, who will they turn to? The one person who tells them what to read, what to buy, how to lead their own lives and how to raise their children. Oprah Winfrey, their new savior.

Now you may I’m crazy, and you may be right. But let’s just leave it at this: I’m not going to be purchasing any Oprah-endorsed Kool-Aid released in the near future.

  1. I don’t think Oprah is the ’chosen one’, just a woman that is searching and not certain about Christianity and what it means. In fact she is not alone, many are confused and that is the problem. So what is the true Church and what does God expect from us? The first Church is the Catholic Church and God expects us to do the best we can with the knowledge we have and to pray for guidance. The Holy Trinity is an opener and we cannot do or understand everything. We, as Christians are required to put it to the test. That is do we say the Jesus Christ is the Son of God, died for our sins and was resurrected? Do we show love in our lives? I was raised Christian New Age and after much prayer I joined the Catholic Church but I also know that others will also enter the Kingdom of God. Going to pilgrimage to Medugorje was an eye opener. Mother Mary is open and willing to assist.

  2. I honestly don’t believe Oprah cares for religion. I’m not commenting on people’s struggles with religion. I could care less whether or not you practice any religion at all. What matters is that Oprah is now and always has advocated the break down of timeless institutions that have helped to govern society in some form or another. I believe she strives for these changes because they conflict with her ideals and interests. Therefore she preaches to the masses in an effort to place her beliefs in the hearts and minds of her viewers. It doesn’t matter whether or not Jesus Christ is the Son of God or not. What matters, in my humble opinion, is that Oprah wishes that she held that revered office, not because she believes in trinities or deities but because she wants us to believe in her.

    Thanks for your comment.

  3. Oprah certainly wants the public to believe in her and her ideas. She sells thousands of items and books that conflict with many beliefs. If one believes in Oprah and her ideas she is able to raise money for her causes. I disagree with some of her projects and her conflicting messages to the public. It’s obvious that she in struggling to understand herself and others. While most of us do this in private she has a huge stage. I suggest that anyone listening to her or the media precend with caution. Oprah says she is open to a higher power and like many that are new age is tries not to offend the general public.

  4. I don’t believe that her actions are result of a "struggle;" her actions are the direct results of her motives. She wants to recast the world in her image. People like you who will explain away her evilness in simplistic terms that are easily forgiven and forgotten are actually her most valuable resource. You just wear your mark of the beast under your clothing instead of brazenly across your forehead, trying to persuade others that there is no present danger.

  5. Are you familiar with the ’sign of God"? I was given this gift so it is not likely that I am her most valuable resource. In fact in my general life not only do I discuss what I consider her false teachings according to my beliefs but I do know that others will make their own decisions and are free to do so. We all have our own motives and many things have been said and done in the name of religion that are appalling.

  6. You’re still hung up on the religion aspect. It’s obviously important to you, but it is aside from the point. Oprah’s terrible nature transcends normal institutions such as religion in her attempt to assert herself as the ultimate institution.

  7. Jesus, says you shall know them by their fruits. ie: Do these people of flesh and bones(Oprah) exhibit in their lives the indwelling Holy Spirit. Which is the sign and seal of Christ in you, your hope of glory.

  8. I do not see Oprah as evil. Her fruits are often good. I do not depend on humans for my hope. I know that God says He is Love, and then explains what this means. There is much suffering in the world and as human beings of conscience we are called to help others. I see Oprah helping others and I will leave her judgement to God.

  9. In the end times (Revelations) the world will run rampant with deception. The Bible also teaches us to pray for those who have authority. We should never talk badly about them even if we do not agree. I also know that my God is a jealous God and that the first commandment tells us we shall have no other God before HIM. Well, Scientology and other New Age thinking; at the root of it all; is teaching you to become your own God. Oprah wants to be God. I do not think My God will aprrove of this. I think this will make him highly upset, There is only one way to God. That is through Jesus Christ and exepting him as your savior. What else does did Jesus have to do to prove that to the world?? Has he not done enough? This is something I have found an interest in. Oprah and her views. We must pray for Oprah and all of her viewers!!! That they may not be led astray and become decieved. I am so with you on the Kool-Aid!!

  10. I’m just adding to the things mentioned above from others. Good fruit? Yes, She has done some good things. I myself don’t know where her heart lies. But just remember people, Satan is clever, he won’t be coming on stage as a monster, No.... He will be beautifully disguised as an angel of light, with words of hope, peace and love. Don’t forget how he quoted scripture to Jesus himself when he was in the desert. He will also use and influence all sorts of people, rich and poor to mislead each and everyone of us IF we let him. Keep your eyes wide open,... I believe things are about to get very dangerous around here, especially if you are misled, for you will be lost forever. The man who denies that Jesus is the Christ- he is the liar, he is the Antichrist; and he is denying the Father as well as the Son, because no one who has the Father can deny the Son, and to acknowledge the Son is to have the Father as well. Keep alive in yourselves what you were taught in the beginning: as long as what you were taught in the beginning is alive in you, you will live in the Son and in the Father; AND WHAT IS PROMISED TO YOU BY HIS OWN PROMISE IS ETERNAL LIFE. 1 John 2:22-25

  11. (one last verse) This is all that I am writing to you about the people who are trying to lead you astray. 1John 2:26 That needed to be included!

  12. hello: well it’s been awhile since I checked this web. Do you feel we are preaching to the choir? Well, I just finished reading "To Hell and Back" by Dr. Maurice Rawlings. It covers many of the issues of New Age and deception. Well worth reading.Aug 7, 2008
