You must be this small to ride Lego Star Wars

Lego Star Wars, and by extension the entire "Lego" game franchise, should not be sold to adults. Others have said these games are "fun for all ages". They were mistaken.

However, if you would like to see a popular franchise neutered, compressed, and stripped of just about everything identifiable, this game is great. It's totally safe for kids in just about every way.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga will not challenge your reading skills beyond a second grade level. The motor skills and mental agility required to play the game are also appropriate to children. Also, you are made to play as Jar-Jar. Thankfully, Lego characters are all mute. The music is just a copy and paste lift of the Star Wars soundtrack, which is the rule rather than the exception for games with the Star Wars license.

During cut scenes, the Lego people mime the story sequence being depicted. Mashing the attack button will destroy most enemies, and power ups are plentiful. Lego Star Wars' in-game currency of Lego studs is dropped in immense quantities by practically everything in the game.

Lego Star Wars is big on collecting Lego studs, but this is easily the most boring part of the game. It is perpetually raining studs in this game, and only the most obsessive types will retain interest in harvesting all of them. Your stud supply allows you to purchase new characters and other goodies in the game's hub level.

Much of the game involves co-op gameplay, and the AI, an online teammate, or a local player can control the other character.

Despite what the Lego license might imply, building is not a big part of the game. It's mostly about smashing other Lego toys to bits. Occasionally you'll be able to make the game build something for you by holding down a button, but that's about as complex as it gets.

  1. It’s an easy to play fun game, I enjoy it to the core. Sit back and play with a few mates because co-op is where this game shines.
