It’s no secret. When former LSU Coach Nick Saban left LSU and joined the Crimson Tide after just one season with the Miami Dolphins, Tiger fans were outraged. The already intense rivalry between LSU and Alabama grew even stronger. This Saturday, November 8, Saban will return to Death Valley for the first time since his controversial departure, and the redemption fans have long been seeking will finally be within their grasp.

Baton Rouge residents have found many ways to prepare for this much-anticipated event. Some are shoveling out cash on the “Beat Saban” shirts they are going to wear to the game. Others are dedicating their weekends to making signs that they will parade around campus. But in true LSU tradition, most fans are just planning on doing a lot of drinking. Spanky’s Daiquiris on Airline Highway in Prairieville offers the perfect combination of drinking and Saban loathing – a “Beat ‘Bama Bash.”

Join angry Tiger fans from all over Baton Rouge Thursday night, November 6, at Spanky’s Daiquiris for lots of drink specials, including $1 energy shots. There will also be LSU trivia throughout the night to compete for LSU apparel and free drinks from the bar, as well as other special giveaways for customers.

The Ultimate Tiger Fan, David St. Romain, the artist who sang and co-wrote the popular songs, “Geaux Tigers! Beat ‘Bama!” and “If You’re a Tiger Fan” will also be joining the party for a special show, beginning at 9 p.m. Made popular for his third place finish on the nationally televised competition “Nashville Star,” David has spent most of the last three years in Nashville working with various nationally renowned artists and songwriters. Eager to be back in his home state, he will be performing the song he personalized for LSU fans everywhere before last year’s game against Alabama, as well as other Louisiana classics and various country songs.

Head to Spanky’s Thursday for nationally recognized talent, drink specials, free stuff and, as always, no cover charge. Begin the tailgate party a little early and prove once again that Tiger fans pre-game harder than any other state. Watch out, Alabama! Like the song says, “We’re number one, and we’re coming for you.”

  2. If you actually read the article, gump, we were #1 when we beat your a$$ in BDS last year. Doesn’t surprise me that you only read between the lines.
