Tied with the 20-season long Gunsmoke, The Simpsons is in the dock to run for three more seasons, marking history as TV’s longest-running American sitcom.

“The cast is signed for three more years, so I would say it’s about a 90 percent chance that we’ll come back for at least one of those three,” Al Jean, the show’s executive producer, said. “I actually think it’s better than a 50 percent chance we’ll do three more years of this at least.”
