Each year, various fashion icons implement a new range of necessary wardrobe pieces and ensembles. Spring 2009 focused on animal-printed skirts with clingy tanks for the ladies, with men building outfits from basic, bright colors.

Following spring, summer began with strappy flats and slip-ons, with the new V-neck for men. Fall came shortly after, with neutral-hued patterns and cashmere for all.

This winter, however, a new stance is taken. Vogue Fashion has spoken: Winter 2009-2010 is going to be the chicest winter of all.

In the cooler months, every wardrobe of every male and female should have a fabulous winter coat. If possible, splurge on a designer coat to guarantee a long-lasting lifespan.

Traditional hues for winter coats include black, grey or brown, but this year, it's time for something new.

For women, venture in bright patterns or dazzling colors; this is a sure way to stand out and look extraordinary. Men should invest in a Herringbone blazer, which is this season's classiest men's outwear. Askmen.com urges men to look their best in a classic black zip-up cardigan that generally is overlooked.

The make-or-break-an-outfit items this season are shoes. Although brilliantly decorated heels are always appropriate for a dinner party, extravagant boots are the winners this winter.

Paired with a dark set of tights, boots can make legs look longer, leaner and sexier. However, ankle-high boots also will do the trick. Cosmopolitan Fashion continues to embrace the ankle-high boot, urging for women to buy a simple black pair to set off a fun-colored winter dress.

Men's footwear is generally consistent, and this winter is not challenging it. Men should wear simple, classic black or brown leather slip-ons or Oxfords. This classy look will ensure a great addition to any suit.

The accessories for women of this winter are handbags. No, not an over-the-shoulder purse that is constantly swinging while walking, but the chic, tiny, bedazzled handbags that can be seen all over runways. A simple handbag is necessary to make an outfit look classic. A black, cashmere dress paired with a sassy silver handbag draws moderate attention, while still keeping a classic beauty.

Showing attitude with handbags should not be feared, according to Cosmopolitan Winter Fashion. If you're going to a cocktail party and insist on being the center of attention, a fierce bag can do the trick. Buy one with jewels or bows to exhibit your extreme fashion sense and cause every woman's head to turn.

For any season of winter, it is common knowledge to never underestimate the power of cashmere and knits. Cashmere dresses are in like they never were before, and can be matched with just about any accessory. Burberry sites cashmere as one of this winter's most trendy fashions. Women can look sexy in a cashmere dress, while men can wear a cashmere sweater to the office.

According to Vogue Fashion, this season, the knit is a status piece. Fashion icons everywhere are sporting chic knit sweaters and pairing them with boots to give a new Bohemian look. Also, matching knit with heels can give off a professional vibe that can be pulled off while working.

This winter is claimed to be the chicest winter ever. Women can look astonishing with a designer coat and boots, covering up that fashion-stated cashmere ensemble. Men should focus on looking classy this winter, pairing a fancy jacket with simple Oxford shoes. According to many fashion icons, winter 2009 is going to set the record for every winter to come.
