Man busted for DUI makes situation worse
A 35-year-old Wisconsin man made matters worse when he was charged with a DUI. The man was pulled over last Wednesday after an officer saw him driving erratically then hitting a pole at a gas station.
The man failed multiple field sobriety tests, and the officer arrested him. On the way to the jail, the drunk man allegedly began to urinate in the squad car, even spraying the officer in the back of the head.
The man now faces four felony and two misdemeanor charges totaling up to 15 years in prison.
800 dogs and 82 parrots a bit much
Authorities in Tucson, Ariz. discovered a triple-wide trailer owned by an elderly couple housing approximately 800 small dogs and 82 caged parrots. The elderly couple had been breeding several dogs, and a customer who had bought a Chihuahua contacted the authorities telling them of the conditions.
According to authorities, there was enough food for the animals, but the couple was struggling to care for such an enormous amount of dogs. The trailer was filthy and some of the dogs were pregnant, while others were missing paws from fights.
The elderly couple was cooperative, and allowed the authorities to remove the animals. Authorities speculate that the couple accumulated so many dogs when they began breeding the dogs. They were more than likely lonely and felt that no one else would care for the dogs properly.
Cooking oil does not equal silicone
A Korean woman, suffering from a cosmetic surgery addiction, took it a little too far. Hang Mioku, now 48, has been hooked on plastic surgery since her first operation when she was 28.
Mioku never felt pretty enough and had several operations, with a large percentage to her face alone. The operations eventually left her face swollen and disfigured to the point where even her parents could not recognize her.
Doctor’s speculate that Mioku has a psychological disorder, and her family attempted to have her treated for an addiction to surgery; however, they did not have enough money to complete treatment. Mioku fell back into her old habits.
After several doctors refused to work on her face anymore, Mioku was able to find one doctor willing to continue giving her silicone injections. The doctor even gave her silicone to inject herself at home; however, when the silicone was gone, Mioku began using cooking oil to inject herself.
A Korean television show featured Mioku, and prompted viewers to donate enough money to have corrective surgery and treatment for her. Approximately 260 grams of foreign substance was removed from her face and neck alone. Mioku’s face, however, is still disfigured.
